- How old are you? I’m 38 years of age.
- What is your place of birth? I was born in Malaysia and went for study to the UK 20 years ago.
- Where do you live now? I live in Leeds.
- Do you have brothers or sisters? I have 2 brothers and I’m the oldest.
- Are you married and do you have kids? Yes I’m married and no kids.
- At what age did you start playing badminton? At the age of 18.
- What is your favourite food? Japanese Food.
- At which club do you play? Horsforth Badminton Club.
- Which picture you made of a top player is your favourite picture? I have no favourite they are all unique in their own way.
- Which shuttle do you recommend if you switch from plastic/feather to hybride? It depends on your budget. The Yonex Crosswind 70 is more durable but is almost the same price as the Aerosensa 50 but the NCS Max is a good alternative. Try them out to find out which is more suitable for your game.
- What was your first racket model you played with? The Yonex Arcsabre 10 red edition.
- Which streaming platform, where you publish your content is your favourite? I have no preference, they are all fine.
- What is your favourite Tournament to go to? Hard to choose, each tournament have their own unique style. As for noise the Malaysia Open is loud, Indonesia Open at the Istora is also loud but for me the Vietnam open was the loudest in terms of the noise because it was a small arena.
- What is your favourite movie or serie? The Peaky Blinders serie I’m watching now at the moment.
- What is your current racket you play with? Yonex Nanoflare 700 Pro 4UG5
- Which famous person would you like to meet in person? I would like to have a cup of coffee with Barak Obama and Astronauts from the recent Artemis II mission. I’d love to meet them in person.
- If there was no badminton which sport would you do? Swimming, Volleyball or Basketball.
- What is your favourite recipe to cook? Crispy roast pork and fried chicken.
- What is the next tournement you will go to? The National Badminton League Finals in the UK at end of May.
- Do you have a message for al the badminton fans out there? The main thing is to enjoy the game no matter what level it may be. If it is in competition or just for fun with your friends, just enjoy it.
- Do you have any tips for the youth who are playing badmintion? If you just started playing badminton, equipment is not that important, focus on good coaching and training (the basics) and most of all, have fun doing it.
- What is your opinion of het new scoring the BWF introduced 3 x 15? For WorldTour Pro level, I’ll think it’s positive, for the level below and amateurs, we could have the choice for the old score 3 x 21 or the new one 3 x 15.
- Have you ever been to the Netherlands or planning to? Yes I’ve been to the Netherlands before in several occasions during transfers at Schiphol, but the last one I was currently in Amsterdam 2 weeks ago to see the Tulips with my wife it was very nice!
